A. QUESTIONS ABOUT APPLICATION
Question: What are the requirements for applications to graduated programs?
Response: The application requirements for graduated programs (with thesis, without thesis online programs) can be found on the web page of related Institute as follows:

Question: Could I apply more than one program?
Response: Yes. However, the days and hours of interviews should not be same.
Question: During the entrance of automation system, I cannot enter the system with my identification information. What is the reason of it?
Response: Time to time, system may be so busy that such problems can occur. Please try it more than once. If the problem still remains, then please check your identification information with the information in Population Directorate.  
Question: Could others submit the application requirements to Institute for me?
Response: If there is no missing (signature, confirm etc.) in the forms, others can do it for you.
Question: Could I send the application requirements to Institute by mail?
Response: If there is no missing (signature, confirm etc.) in the forms, you can post them.
Question: Could I apply with missing documents under the condition to complete them later?
Response: No. Application with missing documents is not accepted.
Question: After the application, what should I do?
Response: Application Form and Interview Entrance Form should be printed and with them, you should bring all of the application requirements to Institute.

Question: After interview, I am in substitute list. What should I do?
Response: If someone in the main list does not register in a specific period, one can register according to the order of substitute list.  
Question: Is there any interview for MSc. programs without thesis (evening education or online education)?
Response: Yes, there is interview for mentioned programs at the determined place, date, and hour.
Question: From where could I learn the interview place, date, and hour?
Response: This information is announced from the web page of the related Institute two days before the interview. The interview place is generally the related Department.
Question: Which languages are valid in your Institute?
Response: The information of foreign language takes place in automation system.
Question: Which examinations are accepted in the application by your Institute?
Response: ALES or GRE / GMAT. KPDS / ÜDS / YDS or the equivalent exams accepted by Higher Education Council (YÖK). Conversion table for equivalent exams is also found on the web page of YÖK.
Question: In which system is accepted for Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) by your Institute?
Response: CGPA should be over 100. Related conversion table for the other systems can be found on the web page of YÖK.
Question: What is the validity period for the foreign language examinations such as YDS, ÜDS, KPDS, TOEFL, IELTS, etc.?
Response: There is a validity period on the result documents of the foreign language examinations. This period is also valid for the Institute. If there is no period on the document, then all examinations are valid after September, 2005 as mentioned on the web page of ÖSYM. Therefore,
TOEFL and IELTS (Before 14 February 2014): Validity period is 2 years.
KPDS and ÜDS: If there is a validity period on the document, this period is also valid for Institute. If not, the examinations only after September 2005 are valid.
 YDS: If there is no period on the document, it is always valid.

Question: Is foreign language examination or ALES required for the application of MSc. programs without thesis (evening education or online education)?
Response: Foreign language examination or ALES is not required for the application of MSc. programs without thesis.
Question: What is the validity period for ALES?
Response: Validity period of ALES is 3 years (this period is also written on the document).
Question: Could I apply with the equivalent exams for ALES such as GRE or GMAT?
Response: Yes, you can. Please see “Application Requirements” for details on the web page of Institutes.
Question: What are the validity periods for GRE and GMAT?
Response: The validity periods on the result documents of GRE and GMAT are also valid for the Institute. If there is no validity period on the document, the validity periods for GRE and GMAT are 5 years.
Question: Only one score type of ALES is accepted by Automation System. What should I do?
Response: Please write only the score type of ALES suitable with the Department that you have applied.
Question: Is there any preparatory school for foreign language in the Institute?
Response: No, there is no preparatory school in Institute.
Question: What is the statute of “special student”?
Response: Special students only take courses for improving the skills on a specific topic but have no student rights as registered students. However, they should follow the courses and do all necessities for the course. They should also submit the required documents to related Institute during the submission dates but there is no interview for the acceptance of the special students. Special students cannot take diploma or title. Only, they can have a document showing the courses and grades they take as a special student.
Question: If I have no deferment of military service, what should I do?
Response: You should bring the military service statute document to Institute during the registration dates. The required documents will be sent to Military Service by Institute.

 

B. QUESTIONS ABOUT REGISTRATION
Question: For registration, what should I do? Should I reserve for registration? What is the address of registration place? 
Response: The registration dates are between 27-31 July 2015 for 2015-2016 Fall Term. You should do your registration during these days. There is no reservation for registration. You only come to Institute where the registration procedures are done.
Question: I am a new student. After registration, when should I do course program?
Response: For new students, course program dates are between 07-11 September 2015 for 2015-2016 Fall Term. You should do your course program during these days. Please see academic calendar for other important dates.
Question: I am old student. When should I do course program?
Response: For old students, course program dates are between 07-11 September 2015 for 2015-2016 Fall Term. You should do your course program during these days. Please see academic calendar for other important dates.
Question: I could not enter the system in Automation System as there is no information about my e-mail address / phone number. How can I enter my e-mail address / phone number to the system? 
Response: Please contact with the program manager for updating the password.
Question: I have missing or incorrect identification information in Automation System. What should I do?
Response: For registered students; Please come to Institute and contact with the program manager.
For new students who will register; If your TR Identification Number is true, then there is no problem that related staff will update your identification information in the registration process.
Question: I wish to freeze the registration. What should I do?
Response: Please contact with the Head of the Department. Note that you should satisfy the conditions in the Item 46 of Related Regulation of Hacettepe University.
 Question: I wish to cancel the registration. What should I do?
 Response: Please contact with the Head of the Department.

C. QUESTIONS ABOUT COURSE PROGRAM
Question: I have no supervisor. Who will confirm my course program?
Response: Head of the Department can confirm the course program instead of supervisor.
Question: What is the maximum number for the courses that a student can take? 
Response: There is no limit for the number of courses.
 Question: Can a MSc. student take an undergrad course?
Response: For MSc. with Thesis Program; please see the Item 30 / 4 of Related Regulation of Hacettepe University.
For MSc. without Thesis Program; please see the Item 34 / 3 of Related Regulation of Hacettepe University.
 Question: When will I take the PhD Proficiency Exam?
Response: According to the Item 37 of Related Regulation of Hacettepe University, if a student completes all of the PhD courses with success and has a CGPA minimum 2.75, he / she can code the PhD Proficiency course and can take the PhD Proficiency Exam in the same term.
 Question: When will I code the “Special Study” course (start to study the thesis)?
Response: For PhD. students; After being success in PhD Proficiency Exam, you can code the “Special Study” course.
For MSc. students; After determining the topic of the thesis in the end of second term, you can code the “Special Study” course next term.

 

 

 

 

D. OTHER QUESTIONS
Question: How can I suspend my military service when a notification is received from recruitment office?
Response: Please contact with the Institute.
Question: I need student identification card. How and when can I have it?
Response: Please contact with the Institute. Probably, you can have it in the same day.
Question: I have lost student identification card. What should I do?
Response: After giving the newspaper notice of loss of ID card, you can come to Institute for renewal.
Question: Can I also be a student of your graduated program although I am a student of another university?
Response: Yes, you can.
Question: Could you give information about compensation exam?
Response: According to the Item 24 / 4 of Related Regulation of Hacettepe University, compensation exam is considered as mid-term or final exam. When the excuse of the student is accepted, compensation exam should be done in the same term for mid-term exams and should be done in one month after final exams for final exams.
Question: When is the supervisor determined for graduated students?
Response: After the interview, the supervisor for the student is offered by the jury and determined by Institute Administrative Council. If a student wishes to change the supervisor, it is also possible.
Question: I wish to take a course from another Institute. What should I do?
Response: After the confirmation of the Department, you can take the course from another Institute in Hacettepe University using the Institute Automation System. However, taking course from another university requires also corresponds between Institutes.
Question: Should I follow up the courses?
Response: According to the Item 23 of Related Regulation of Hacettepe University, to attend the courses is compulsory. A student should be present in the course at least 80% of the total. Otherwise, student is considered as unsuccessful without having final exam and takes F1 grade.
